Understand Evaluation Insights

Valuable information provided by Evaluations can help you more effectively engage your team and boost sales.

Updated over a week ago

Overview

Once employees start to take the evaluations you issue, stats will become available on the evaluation's Insights Page.

  • Access the page by clicking or tapping the name of an evaluation from the Manage Evaluations table.

Version Selector

When you update an evaluation, a new version is created, and you can use this selector to see the performance information for each version.

Overview Tab

Completion

You'll find various information about how many people have or haven't taken the evaluation and general performance information based on scores.

  • This takes into account every attempt made at this evaluation, including Incomplete.

  • Use this widget to ensure that all the employees who need to take the evaluation have done so.

  • You can also see if any completed evaluations require a manager to score them.

Scores

The Scores tell you as much about the team's effort or ability to learn and retain information as it does about how the content and timing of the evaluation might impact results.

  • The Minimum Score is set when you create an evaluation and is marked on each bar with a blue indicator.

  • The Average or Median score bars turn green when they meet or exceed the minimum.

  • The Average or Median score bars turn red when they do not meet or exceed the minimum.

  • The Highest and Lowest scores are calculated from all attempts made, excluding Incomplete attempts.

Time to Complete

While not necessarily actionable, this information can help you understand how the number of questions or the complexity of questions might affect the time it takes to complete them.

If the Incomplete or Below Minimum counts are high, the Scores are low, or the Time to Complete is higher than you expect, that can indicate an issue with the content of the evaluation.

Consider these questions:

  • Are the answers to these questions available in MISEbox?

  • Are you asking these questions too early in the training process?

  • Is the phrasing of the questions confusing?

  • Are you providing adequate time for employees to take and complete it?

  • Are there too many questions?

Questions Tab

Maybe the most valuable feature of Evaluation Insights, you can see the performance of the questions themselves.

Storytime

A MISEbox client issued an evaluation that asked questions about the menu. The questions about beer performed terribly, and it didn't matter what position the employees had (i.e., servers and bartenders did as poorly as bussers).

The issue wasn't simply that employees didn't know what was on the menu—they didn't understand enough about beer to answer a question like, "I usually drink [brand or style], but I've never had the beers you offer. What can you recommend?"

The managers realized their training didn't include enough background information about brewing methods, beer styles, and other fundamentals to empower the team to answer questions like that. They were able to develop a plan and training materials and almost immediately saw their beer sales go up!

Employee Stats Tab

From here, you can see specific information about each employee assigned to this evaluation.

  • Hold employees accountable for completing assigned evaluations or achieving an acceptable score.

  • Understand how an employee got their score by clicking on the attempt.
